Green Bay Packers tight end Jared Cook has paid tribute to Aaron Rodgers’ “understanding” ahead of their NFL opener.
The Packers play Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 2 HD at 5pm, with Cook and Rodgers both in action.
“He understands the game like no other than I’ve been around,” Cook said about his esteemed team-mate.
“He understands fine details and little things, that’s what makes him so great.
“His ball placement, the way he controls the offence from behind center and he knows what’s going on with the defence, he makes your job easier. He has an understanding of the game that I’ve never seen before.”
Of the Packers’ off-season preparation, Cook said: “We’re carrying on with the mind-set of ‘pursue, cover, finish’ and always stepping yourself up to the next level.
“This camp has been one of the hardest that I’ve been in while I’ve been in the league, and probably one of the most beneficial. It’s helped me grow a lot as a player.”
