BREAKING: Amissah-Arthur steps down as Vice President after ‘surviving’ food poisoning

The Vice President of Ghana, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has on Saturday morning stepped down as vice president of the country.

In a resignation letter dated November 25, 2016, the vice president resigned from his post with immediate effect but did not state reasons for his resignation.

A source close to the presidency hinted our reporter Kwadwo Ampong that several plots to kill the vice president through food poisoning have failed and may be the likely cause for his resignation.

Amissah-Arthur also stated that he has stepped down from the 2016 presidential race which he was running as the mate or vice president of the incumbent John Dramani Mahama.

Another source close to the Vice President says the ruling NDC top executives are pleading with Amissah-Arthur not to step down as it would negatively influence the outcome of the December 7 polls.

Late Atta Mills died mysteriously few months to elections and Amissah-Arthur seems fearful for his life.
