Ghanaian movie star Clement Bonney popularly known as Mr. Beautiful has confirmed in a Television interview on Metro that he is no more a member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The actor was reported to have said earlier on OK FM Saturday morning that he has left the party.
Mr. Beautiful’s exit from the NDC comes after the President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama brought in Nigerian actor, Nkem Owoh, popularly known in showbiz as Osuofia, to feature in an NDC campaign advert.
“This is an insult to me, my intelligence, my talent and my carreer.” – Mr. Beautiful said.
According to the actor, his decision to campaign for the NDC has cost him his job as an actor and as such expected the president to count on him for what he used Osuofia for.
Mr. Beautiful however did not state if he would be campaigning for any other party.
Osuofia appears in an advert dubbed ‘This is the new Ghana’ which catalogues the achievements of President John Mahama’s government.
Osuofia, who recently said he was invited into Ghana by President Mahama, through Nigerian businessman Dele Momodu, has for some time now been touting the achievements of the NDC government.
He was a surprise guest at the unveiling of the Trust Sports Emporium (Bukom Boxing Arena) in Accra on Tuesday, November 15.
The actor expressed excitement at the transformation being enjoyed by the country saying, “transforming gradually on a very positive note and that makes me salute the president. I think he is doing a lot of work in Ghana”.
In the about a minute campaign advert, the popular Nollywood actor is seen arriving in Ghana through the Kotoka International Airport totally amazed at the transformation of the place.
The video also highlights some projects undertaken by the NDC government.
